On November 1, 1951 he married Helen Marguerite Adams. They had two daughters, Marcia Ann Younger and Anita Bunch.
He moved to California in 1936 and then to Hamilton, MO in 1950. In 1978 he returned to Chillicothe. He was a farmer, and also worked in the insurance and construction industries.
He was a member of the Baptist Church.
He was blessed with 21 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.
