Bedford was born February 12,1941 in Ada to Bedford F. & Montie (Scott) Murphy. Bedford was raised in Stonewall,OK. moving to Rush Springs in 1957, graudating in !959. He enlisted in the US Army following graduation,serving 2 years at Ft. Sill.
He married Betty Anderson on December 14,1961 in Rush Springs( Betty is the sister of Adrian Anderson) making their home in Yukon for a while.Upon being discharged in 1962 he was employed by Western Electric in OKC until April 1963 then he was employed by Continental Oil Co. transfering to Healdton. Bedford was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents,2 brothers,John & Frank Murphy; a sister Shirley Ann (Murphy) Daniels & nephew, Kenton L. Murphy.
