Hugh is the son of Jessie and Mary Ann (Sarah)Dawson Iiams. Hugh was born on January 24, 1817. Hugh Iiams died in May,1883. Hugh was married to Catherine (Kate) Moore Iiams. Hugh and Catherine had nine children. Children of Hugh and Catherine are Mary Ann, b. 1842, in Ohio; Jesse, b. 1844, in Ohio; Laban, b. 1845 in Ohio; William Edward, b. 1847 in Ohio; Sarah J., b.1852 in Ohio; James, b. 1854 in Iowa; Hugh Iiams, Jr. b. JAN 1858 in Missouri; John, b. 1859 in Missouri; George Washington, b.1862 in Des Moines, Iowa. George died ABT 1904 in OK, killed in a runaway wagon. Note: The birth years could be wrong on some of these because they were decided from a 1860 census when they didn't match family history numbers. Hugh (Father) is buried in the Decatur Cemetery of Decatur County, Iowa. Catherine is also buried in this cemetery and appears to be buried next to or close to Hugh.
