Mary Lou Summers, age 50, died Friday, Aug. 12, 1994 at her rural Hale home. She was born Feb 10, 1944 in Pine City, Minn., the daughter of Lloyd and Caroline Wanous Barnes. On Oct. 3, 1958, she married Charles A. Summers in Hale. He survives of the home. Mrs. Summers had lived in Hale since 1958, moving there from Hopkins, Minn. She was a homemaker, who loved sewing and doing things for others. Mrs. Summers attended the Church of Christ in Brookfield. Survivors also include her mother, of Pine City, Minn; two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Shannon and Mary Summers and Travis and Sondra Summers, all of Hale; twin daughters and two sons-in-law, Dianna and Larry Marriott of Hale and Deanna and Mike Mohr of Red Bud, Ill; two sisters, Bonnie Seedorff of Bethel, Minn. and Dixie Barnes of Peoria, Ariz; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father in 1989. Funeral services were today at 10 a.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home in Hale. Burial was at Hale Memory Gardens in Hale. There was a family visitation on Sunday, Aug. 14. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Mary Lou Summers Memorial Fund for Needy Cancer Patients, which may be left at the funeral home. Arrangements were under the direction of the Lindley Funeral Home in Hale.
