UPPER SANDUSKY -- Justin Bernard "Bus" Snyder, age 84, of Upper Sandusky, and formerly of Kirby, died Thursday at 8:15 a.m. Aug. 12, 2010 at the Fairhaven Health Care Community.

Justin was born on June 26, 1926 in Kirby to Albert L. and Anna M. (Thiel) Snyder. They both preceded him in death.

He married Dorothy Ulman on Aug. 5, 1950 in New Riegel, and later married Betty Lazo. Both are deceased. He also married and divorced Bonnie Bryant, who survives.

Mr. Snyder is survived by two sons, Bernard (Beverly) Snyder, Lima, Darl (Teena) Snyder, Kirby, two daughters, Judy Snyder, Upper Sandusky, Elaine Snyder, Kirby, six grandchildren, Joshua Snyder, Eric Snyder, Crystal Snyder, Ashley Crisp, Joseph Snyder, Jennie Snyder, seven great-grandchildren, seven stepchildren, and a sister, Viola Blackburn, Upper Sandusky.

He is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tammy Snyder, two sisters, Bernice Riedlinger, Helen Bash, four brothers, James, Vincent, Alfred and Ralph Snyder.
Justin worked at the Hochstettler Feed Mill and Forest Implement, both in Forest and Sheller Globe, Lima. He farmed for many years in Bascom, Kirby and Forest. He also tended bar at The Corner Pocket, Kirby. After he retired he continued to work and delivered papers for the Daily Chief Union for eight years.

Mr. Snyder was a member of Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church St. Mary's Chapel. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus #2050 a former member of the Carey Conservation Club and Eagles Lodge #2184.
His hobbies included reading western novels, watching the Cleveland Indians on TV, gardening, canning, fishing and hunting.

He never met a stranger or failed to state his opinion.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010 in the St. Mary's Chapel, Kirby with Father Robert Dendinger officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kirby.

Visitation will be held at Clark Shields Funeral Home Monday, Aug. 16, 2010 from 4-8:00 p.m. immediately following a prayer service at 3:30 p.m., also a visitation will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010 from 9-10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
