OBIT: Cheryl Lynn Maxwell went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006, with husband, Joe, and friend Rudi by her side. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2006 at Kuehl-Nicolay Funeral Home Chapel, Paso Robles, Calif.

Cheryl was an inspiration of joy and perseverance to all her family and friends. She enjoyed camping, fishing, sailing, traveling, gardening, singing, dancing, and playing with her grandchildren. She especially loved being surrounded by friends and family. Cheryl retired from the California Youth Authority in Paso Robles on Feb 1, 2006, after 23 years of service. She was acknowledged as the first Employee of the Month and received the Superintendent's Award in 2005. She was greatly appreciated for her work, leadership and laughter.

Cheryl is survived by her husband Joseph C. Maxwell; children Chris (Kristi) Maxwell and Erin (Darius) Garvida; grandchildren Summer and Skylar Maxwell and Noelle Garvida; mother Lorraine McHaney; sister Diane Maxwell; sister-in-law Sharon Maxwell; niece Lisa M. Prestininzi and nephew Larry C. Prestininzi; and the cast of characters known as the irregulars. She also had seven nieces and nephews in Washington State.
