His Texas Death Certificate shows his mother as Elizabeth Looney, but this was either a mistake by her son-in-law Herschel Dee Bunch or the recorder of the record.
Looney married Annie Shull on January 2, 1881 in Maury County, Tennessee. Their children were Florence, Rex, Charley Brice, Myrtle, Gertrude, Eugenia, Clifford Long, Lucy Anna, Lylian, Edna M., Mabel and Lorene Tune.
He was mentioned in his mother's obituary:
"The remains of Mrs. Elizabeth Tune, 82 years old, who died in Nacogdoches, arrived here Sunday night at the parlors of the Spalding Undertaking company, and were taken to the home of Mrs. Tune's son, A. L. Tune, living on West Main Street, where funeral services were conducted at 2 p. m. Monday by Reverend Dunn of the College Street Church of Christ. Interment took place in the city cemetery. Mrs. Tune is survived by four children, a son and three daughters: A. L. Tune, Waxahachie; Mrs. Jim Rogers, Fort Worth; Mrs. Jim Gibson, Waxahachie; and Mrs. Sherman Ogan, Cushing, Texas."
Looney's siblings were Rhoda, Malinda J., Sarah Elizabeth, Henry G., Elizabeth J. and Willie Tune.
