She was born on January 17, 1919 in Winters, TX. She was an avid gardener, fisherwoman and joke teller. She left behind a loving family who loved and adored her.
She was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Minnie Bell Kirby, husband Albert Lewis and husband Jay Davis, brother Elvis Kirby, sister Olga Myers, son-in-law Harold Ballenger and infant granddaughter Veronica Willingham.
She is survived by her children: Bertalena "Bo" Ballenger of Leander, Cliff (Lee) Lewis of Amarillo, Jeanette (Ron) Willingham of Georgetown, Dr. Melba Lewis of Austin, Terry (Debra) Lewis of Lake Brownwood, Neva (Mark) Carlson of Evergreen, CO, Kay Rita (Gary) Broyles of Abilene, and Janet Davis of Willis. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Viola was a member of the Drasco Baptist Church and also a member of First Baptist Church of Abilene.
Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, August 26th from 6 to 8pm at the Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home located at 1200 S. Bagdad Road, Leander, TX. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church, Winters, TX on Saturday, August 27th starting with visitation from 11:30 to 12:30.
Funeral service will be at 12:30 followed by burial at Pumphery Cemetery.
Her grandsons will serve as her pallbearers. Any donations may be given to Wesleyan Scenic in Georgetown.
