Mr. Jerry O. Gorman, age 84, of Forrest City, died Sunday at his home in Forrest City. He had been in poor health for the past several years.
Mr. Gorman was born September 28, 1928, in Forrest City, and was the son of Malcolm O. Gorman and Myrtle Collier Gorman. He lived in St. Francis County most of his life, was a farm equipment salesman, was a Veteran of the Arkansas National Guard and was twice activated, was a member of the Kiwanis Club and Master Gardner.
Mr. Gorman married Hazel Dearing in 1954, and she survives him along with one son, Tim Gorman of Forrest City, two daughters; Cindy Hodge of Southaven, Mississippi, and Leah Lewis of Jackson, Mississippi, one sister, Mildred Barker of North Little Rock, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He had one son, Jerry M. Gorman, who preceded him in death.
Services for Mr. Gorman will be held at the First Baptist Church in Forrest City, 2:00 P.M., Thursday, with burial in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, beginning 1:00 P.M., at the church, until the time of the service. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
