Stanley E. Kess Jr., age 68, went home to be with his Lord on January 17, 2013. The beloved husband of Mellena Kess, father of Hansi Kess of Chicago, Illinois, Jennifer (José) Velázquez of Memphis, Tennesee, and Sarah (Paul) Baker of Fort Wayne, Indiana, brother of Gwendolyn Kess Johnson, stepfather of Thomas and Rebecca (children: Samantha and Gavin) Hartzell, loving Pop of Elena Velázquez, Rebekah, Jude, James, and Ruth Baker, and dear friend of Chad Jewett.

Stan was born on July 10, 1944 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Stanley and Page (Crosley) Kess. He was a member of Hope Baptist Church in Dillsboro, Indiana.

Visitation was at the Norman Chapel, Spring Grove Cemetery until the time of service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Prospect House, 682 Hawthorne Avenue in Cincinnati, Ohio 45205, or the Youth Encouragement Services (YES Home) at 11636 County Farm Road, Aurora, Indiana 47001.
