Funeral services for Mrs. Willie Alexander, 90, who died Wednesday afternoon at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Bill Moore, in Arp, were held in that town Thursday July 3, at 4 p.m.
Mrs. Alexander was born in Henderson County, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Brantley, and was Miss Willie Brantley before her marriage to William Alexander. She had resided in Arp for fifty years.
Her father was a pioneer resident in the county, and is said to have been the first person buried in the City Cemetery in Athens, originally purchased as a Masonic burial ground.
sister of the late Mrs. Anna Williamson of Athens, who died on May 12, 1946. She was an aunt of Mrs. Evan Ennis of Athens.
