Roy Beach Dies Of Crash Injuries
Roy W. Beach, 71, of 1127 Ninth avenue, Marion, died Tuesday in Mercy hospital, Anamosa, of injuries suffered in an automobile accident last Saturday morning.
His car and one driven by George Madden, Freeport, Ill., collided east of Wyoming.
Mr. Beach was born Feb. 10, 1880, in Knox county, Ohio. He came to Linn county 59 years ago. He was married to Eva A. Harrison Oct. 21, 1903, in Marion. She died in May, 1937. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Kenney of Viola; a son, Clair Beach, Waukeegan, Ill; 12 grandchildren; two brothers, Will T., Mechanicsville, and Fred C. Beach, Marion; and a sister, Mrs. Iva Walton, Mt. Vernon.
Mr. Beach, a member of the Methodist church was a custodian at the Lincoln building. Services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Yocom-Murdoch chapel by the Rev. James P. Gable. Burial will be in Oak Shade cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel.
