The Rev. Aloysius Knier, pastor, was the celebrant of the requiem Mass. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
Born in Bavaria June 8, 1901, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael Schmid, Mr. Schmid came to this country as an infant with his parents. The family first settled in Menomonee Falls and moved to Chilton in 1911. He married the former Lucille Keuler in Chilton Aug. 25, 1929.
Mr. Schmid was employed as a carpenter contractor until ill health forced him to retire three years ago.
Survivors include his wife; a son, John of Sheboygan Falls; four daughters, Mrs. Elroy (Marjorie) Knaus of Johnsburg, Mrs. Donald (Mary Ann) Binsfeld, of Sun Prairie, Mrs. Dennis (Ellen) Weitzman, of Stevens Point and Miss Barbara Schmid of Milwaukee; 13 grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Harry Becker of Chilton. A brother and sister preceded him in death.
