Sylena Sabel
Sylena Sabel, age 85, of 2000 Taft St. New Holstein, died on Tuesday, April 17, 2001 at the Calumet Medical Center in Chilton.

She was born April 8, 1916 in the town of Brothertown, a daughter of the late Henry and Emma (Herzog) Gelling.

Sylena married Clemens F. Sabel on April 15, 1941 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chilton. He preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 1990.

She farmed with her husband in the town of Brothertown all of her life.

Sylena was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Chilton and the Christian Mothers.

She is survived by two sons, Ronald (Joan) Sabel of Marytown and William (Betty) Sabel of Charlesburg; six grandchildren, Carol (Richard) Schmitz, Daniel Sabel, Thomas (Trisha) Sabel, Scott (Brenda) Sabel, Steven Sabel, and Michael Sabel and four greatgrandchildren, Cassandra Schmitz, Nathan Schmitz, Justin Sabel and Alexa Sabel. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol; two sisters and a brother.

Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2001 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 62 East Main St., Chilton, with the Rev. Gary New S.D.S. officiating. Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 20, in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 4 p.m. until the time of service.

Wieting Funeral Home of Chilton is assisting the family with arrangements.
