He was Missing in Action or Buried at Sea. His name is recorded on the Tablets of the Missing at Honolulu Memorial. He was awarded the Purple Heart. According to the American Battle Monuments Commission, Vincent was listed as KIA as of January 26, 1944 and his rank was 1st Lieutenant, receiving a posthumous promotion. Captain Vincent's remains were identified on October 21, 2014, after being discovered during the excavation of a construction site on the island of Tarawa. Captain Vincent's remains were returned to Westfield, Massachusetts on July 1, 2015.
