DAVENPORT - Funeral services for Dorothy (Dodie) Mather, 93, of Davenport, will be 1 p.m. Thursday January 24, 2013, at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport, with the Rev. John Grebner officiating. Visitation is from noon till service time. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Mrs. Mather passed away peacefully on Monday, January 21, 2013, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. She was born in 1920 in Davenport, a daughter of Eugene T. and Marian Duve. She married John E. Meyers in 1938. She later married Anders Mather in 1978, both of whom are deceased.

Dodie retired in 1987, after 18 years, from military personnel, AMCCOM and Protocol, Rock Island Arsenal. Her memberships included Grace Lutheran Church, Davenport, TRI-L Group, the Dining Club groups, Women of the Moose Chapter 106, Davenport, NARFE, Rock Island Women's 15 year Club, American Legion Auxillary #711, Blue Grass, of which she was Past President; Viking Club, Moline; Mercy Silver Service, and Quad-City Times Plus 60. She loved cooking and entertaining, and her hobbies were playing cards with several clubs, dancing and reading. Her most important time, was the time she spent with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include daughters, Sandy (Bob) Simon, of Washington, and Jill (Rick) Gustas, Davenport; son John Meyers, of Washington; grandchildren, Jeff, Scott, Todd, Bruce, Todd, and Christopher; and nine great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Richard Meyers, grandsons, Todd Simon and Scott Simon, a sister, Eva Jane Stimson, and a brother, Dick Duve.
