Guy Overton Turner, Jr. of Conyers, GA, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013. Guy, age 70, was born in Conyers on October 14, 1942 and was a lifelong resident. He was a master carpenter and owner of Turner Construction Company performing residential and commercial building. He leaves a legacy of hard work, beautiful craftsmanship, and many friends. Even though he was extremely ill before his death, he fought hard to win the battle for his life, but unfortunately it was not meant to be. He is survived by one son, Brian (Tanya) Turner of Conyers; two grandsons, Air Force Captain Alan (Jillian) Turner, Clovis, New Mexico and Navy Canine Training Specialist, Austin Turner, San Antonio, Texas; one sister, Betty Turner Christian of Conyers; four brothers, Raymond Turner of Covington, GA; Charles Turner, Bobby Turner and Jimmy Turner all of Conyers; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 24, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Conyers First United Methodist Church with Rev. Howard Greer officiating; interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted and/or contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church designated for either the Sunday Breakfast Club or the Church Building Fund.
