Frederick emigrated from Germany when he was 28 years old. He sailed out of Bremen, Germany on the ship "Grope". He arrived in New York on Dec. 07, 1852.

Later in 1857 he immigrated to Canada & settled around Waterloo County in the province of Ontario.

There he married Catherine Elizabeth Krafft on Apr. 25, 1859 in the Village of Berlin. (Church Records).

Frederick was the Father of 9 known children;

2. Maria Schlote (Ernst) 1861-1930.
3. Sophia Schlote 1865-1940.
4. Christina Schlote (Linker) 1867-1941.

9. William Frederick Louis Schlote 1876-

Frederick Schlote was a Councillor for the town of Waterloo from 1878 to 1880.

He passed away at the age of 84 years, 8 months and 23 days. His cause of Death was; Arteriosclerosis (Heart Failure). Death Register #029661.
