Clyde Coolidge Decker was born on August 18, 1923 in Lenoir, North Carolina, the son of William Edgar Decker (1899–1972) and Zelma Leola (Braswell) Decker (1889–1974).
A US Army veteran who served during World War II, he was married about 1949 to Meblean Duncan.
A retired minister and a long-time worker in the North Carolina furniture industry, Clyde was living in Erin, Tennessee, Houston County, Tennessee and was 89 years old and married when he passed away at Signature Health Care Center on January 21, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his parents, by his son Dwight William Decker and by his grandson Matthew Decker, while survivors included his widow, two sons, a daughter, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside Services were in Dickson County Memorial Gardens with Military Honors, and arrangements were through Taylor Funeral Home.
