He was a construction worker; an Army Veteran of WWII who received a Purple Heart; and a protestant.
Daughters, Sandra Jones of Gassaway and Treva Mick of Frametown; brother, James Allen of Gassaway; sister, Goldie Reip of Flatwoods; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive him.
In addition to his parents, his wife Lois Allen on March 5, 2003; daughter Melinda Friend; great grandson, Casey Ray Jones; two brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death.
Services were held 11 am Friday, February 17 at Richard M. Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway with Rev. Jeff Hanna officiating. Burial was in the Little Kanawha Memorial Gardens, Heaters.
