Harold Wayne Burgess, age 72, of Archdale, passed away Friday, January 11, 2013. He was born on June 29, 1940 to James Harold Burgess and Flossie Tucker Burgess in High Point. He married the late Carole Rose Burgess and together they had two children. He retired from the Navy as Chief Petty Officer.
Besides his parents Harold was preceded in death by his wife Carole Rose Burgess and his son Harold Wayne Burgess Jr. Survivors include his daughter, Joni Whittington and her husband James "Jimmy" of Archdale; brother, Charles Edward Burgess of Liberty; sister, Toby Johnston of Orlando, FL; two grandsons, Shane Whittington and his wife Erin of Archdale and Dakota Wayne Burgess of Archdale and two great grandchildren, Tyson and Sydney.
A funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00pm in the chapel of Sechrest Funeral Service in Archdale. Burial will follow at Oakwood Memorial in High Point. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
