Darlington- Glenn L. Wiegel, age 70, of Darlington, Wisconsin, died on Thursday, August 21, 1986, at a local hospital. He was born on May 25, 1916, in Seymour Township, Wisconsin and was married to the former M. Evelyn Parkinson on May 19, 1947. He was a veteran of WWII; a commission agent for the Standard Oil Company for 24 years until his retirement on August 23, 1976. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington; the Knights of Columbus Council #1080; the Bates-O'Brien-Howe American Legion Post #214 and the Darlington Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; four daughters, Mrs. Bernard (Virginia) Ellefson of Brooklyn, Wisconsin, Mrs. Mark (Joan) Subach of Madison, Mrs. James (Jean) Hole of Barneveld, Wisconsin, and Irma Wiegel of Darlington; three sons, Richard Wiegel of Madison and Robert and Edward Wiegel, both of Darlington; two brothers, Bernard of Monroe, and Paul of McAllen, Texas; five sisters, Mrs. William (Almira) Mitchell, Laura Wiegel, Mrs. Thomas (Lillian) Smith, Mrs. Harold (Barbara) Shryock, all of Rockford, Illinois and Mrs. James (Evelyn) Perka of Mundelein, Illinois; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 23, 1986, at 11:30 am at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Friday, August 22, 1986, from 3 until 9 pm at the Steil Funeral Home, Darlington where a rosary will be prayed at 8 pm.
