Coming here with her parents, Patrick and Ellen Shine Kendrick in the year 1855, the family built a home on the farm now owned by Charles Clements, east of this city. From there they moved in a short time to the home within a block of where she passed away.
She was married in 1872 to James Riley, who with one son, James, preceded her in death. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Henry Wiesen, of Fresno, Calif.,one brother, Henry, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., three daughters, Katherine and Martha of Madison, and Nell and Mrs. R.E.VanMatre of Darlington, and one son, William.
