Actor. He was awarded a Daytime Emmy in 1985 for Best Supporting Actor for his role as 'H.B. Lewis' (1983 to 1996) on the soap opera "Guiding Ligh"t. He was well-known respected character on stage, television and film. His Broadway debut was as 'Sydney Relitch' in "Bell, Book and Candle." He was nominated for a 1964 Tony Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in "A Case of Libel." His film credits include "In the Heat of the Night" and "A Cat on a Hot Tin Roof."
