Christian F. "Christ" Olson, a well known farmer of Wiota, born in Norway on April 12, 1851, was killed in the afternoon of July 26, 1909. Initially, it was reported that he was killed from riding on top of a box care between Browntown and South Wayne, on the St. Paul road. It was later learned and reported in the same newspaper article that Christ had boarded the train at South Wayne to go to Gratiot and the jar of the train threw him between the cars and his body was cut in two. His funeral was held July 28th.
