Mr. and Mrs. Will H. White were called upon to mourn the death of their little son. Lyle was born in New Diggings May 20, 1915 aged 1 year, 1 month and 12 days. He has never had the best of health but for the last three weeks was slowly declining. He was taken to the hospital in Shullsburg on Sunday but though loving hands did all they could for him, he was called home Monday morning at 4:15.
So ended the short life of little Lyle whose only strength was love. He who has never known the love of children cannot appreciate the utter desolation of the parent when he lays a loving one away.
The funeral took place Tuesday afternoon at one o'clock. Interment was made in Shullsburg. The pallbearers were Leslie Vickers, Harold Teasdale, Otto Peacock and Berdernuss Newman.
