Mrs. Pearl Marie Welch, 99, of Murray, Kentucky died Saturday, October 19, 2013 at her home.
Mrs. Welch was born in Van Lear, Kentucky on January 16, 1914 to the late Gilbert and Dorisa May Salyer Young. Mrs. Welch retired from Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Company in Huntington, West Virginia. She was a member of the St. Leo Catholic Church in Murray, as well as a lifelong member of the Eastern Star and the Pioneer Telephone Organization.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Welch was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Lyle "Jack" Welch; four sisters, Beatrice Cundiff, Ruby Dickerson, Clara Adams and Madge Pack; one brother, Hobart Young; and by grandson, James Patrick McCoart.
Mrs. Welch is survived by one daughter, Karen Sue McCoart (James) Herndon of Murray; three grandchildren, Robert J. McCoart, II, William T. (Julie) McCoart and Kim (David) Griffo; as well as seven great grandchildren, Tyler, Parker, James and Cole McCoart, Robert J. McCoart, III, and Patrick and Addey Griffo.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 21, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Father Jason McClure and Rev. Kerry Lambert officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 21, 2013 from 12:00 p.m. until funeral hour (2:00 p.m.) at the funeral home.
