Thomas J. Wurm, 57 years of age, passed away Monday January 14, 2013 at his residence. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on April 16, 1955, he was the son of the late Edward A. and Margaret (Desborough) Wurm. A lifelong Aurora resident, he graduated from Aurora High School in 1973, where he was active with the wrestling team. In 1979, Mr. Wurm, along with his brother Edward, took over the operation of Wurm Builders, the business started by their father, changing the name to Classic Homes, which remains today. An expert furniture maker, he also truly enjoyed the outdoors, including fishing and skeet shooting, and many fond memories will remain of the home that Mr. Wurm and his children built together at Pelee Island in Canada where family summers were spent. A gentleman of few words, he will always be remembered as a loving husband, and a great father whose cherished times with family will never be forgotten. On September 15, 1978, Mr. Wurm married his devoted wife Diane (Logan) Wurm who survives at their residence. Also surviving are his loving children Thomas J. (Ellen) Wurm, Matthew J. (Renee) Wurm and Megan (Robert) Romick all of University Heights, Ohio; his siblings Edward (Cathy) Wurm of Mantua, Betty (Jerry Oriel) Wurm of Twinsburg, Kathleen (John "King") Kolar of Aurora and Eileen Wurm of Plymouth, Michigan. Calling hours will be held Friday from 5:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where funeral services for Mr. Wurm will take place Saturday January 19, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Fr. Michael Garvey of St. Joseph's Catholic Church will officiate, with final resting place to follow at Aurora City Cemetery.
