Ben F. Foster, age 84, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away January 19, 2013, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

Ben was born April 4, 1928, in Springfield, Ky., to the late Ezra and Lola (Chesser) Foster. He graduated high school and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for two years. Ben then reenlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served for twenty years, retiring in 1972. Ben married Consuelo Lara on October 6, 1956, in Council Bluffs. They were blessed with three children. After retirement from the Air Force, Ben went to work for AT&T for 18 years, retiring as an assembly line worker. Ben was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

In addition to his parents, Ben was preceded in death by 5 siblings.

Ben is survived by his wife of 56 years, Consuelo Foster; son, Richard Foster; daughters, Constance (Daniel) LaShay, all of Council Bluffs, Mary Lou Mash, of Norfolk, Virginia; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brothers, Carl and Eddy Foster; sisters, Alice Perkins and Lola Belle Carney, all of Springfield, Ky.; many nieces and nephews.
