Until his retirement, John T. Tamsett, 72, of 7 Hill Pl., was a cook for the Delaware & Hudson Railroad.
He died December 8 at Fox Hospital, where he had been a patient for seven weeks.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Bookhout Funeral Home, with the Rev. Roswell W. Lyon, pastor of First Methodist Church officiating. The body will be placed in the funeral home vault for burial later in Oneonta Plains Cemetery.
Mr. Tamsett was born in Oneonta, March 21, 1886, son of John and Evelyn (Smith) Tamsett. He married Lura Herrick, June 29, 1926, in Johnstown, She died Feb. 25, 1957. A lifetime resident of Oneonta, he was a member of Oneonta Aerie, Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He is survived by three nephews, Robert Harrington, Montreal, Canada; Stuart Harrington, 32 Valleyview St.; Clifton Tamsett, South New Berlin; and one niece, Mrs. Frank Archosky, Norwich.
