Then when Thomas was 12 years old his father, Dr. Elijah Reeves Hooten died. When Dr.E.R.Hooten estate was settled, Thomas sibling began to leave the Hopkins Co & Delta Co., TX area and migrate to Lampasas Co., TX. Thomas brother Dr. James Walker Hooten & his wife, Martha A. Testerman married 30 May 1860 Hopkins Co., TX. Family stories say it was shortly after their marriage that they went to Lampasas Co., TX. And, Thomas Clinton Hooten, Dr. J.W. Hooten' older brother took him with his wife and family. Settled Senterfitt, Lampasas Co., TX and made a life, being laid to rest in the old cemetery Senterfitt Cem.
Thomas and his wife stayed in Lampasas Co., TX until about 1894 and they moved to Oklahoma and 1895 had their last child, Lettie Mary Hooten. All the other Children, Kate, Claude, Jack, James were born in Texas.
In 1899 Dr. James Walker Hooten died in Lampasas Co., TX. When he left Hopkins Co., TX there were other siblings besides Thomas that went with him.
I too lost my father when I was 4 and understand the trying times and the sad separation from a parent due to death. But, Praise God for the strong will of my father who insisted that his 3 little kids know God's word and the Love of a Savior Jesus Christ that we could all turn too.
This was a family strong in faith and imagine they too had faith and with Christ in their Hearts, We Praise the Lord Jesus.
Thomas Clinton Hooten, I never knew him. He passed away before I was born. But, his children I was blessed to know and some of their descendants today. They are an amazing family and in all the problems with Thomas losing his parents so young, his sense of family and faith carried him all the days of his life.
Thomas has two sons not mentioned below and I as having problems getting into that portion of the program. The two sons are Jack Ray Hooten FAG79614508 and Claude Hooten FAG 94757411. I will work on it.
