Son of John/Christian Hofelich, he was born in Wurttemberg, Germany. He is also known as Christian Johannes Haverly from the German "Hofelich", he lived 92 years. According to Pearson's Genealogies of Schdy, "Johannes Haverly lived at the 4th flat in 1792 on land bought of Teunis Swart. He was married 18 Mar 1770 in the Albany Ref. Ch. He had at least 6 children. His stone was once located in the Toll Clute Farm Cemetery which is no longer in existence. It was taken over by the Glenville landfill operation. The markers were removed in 1962 and stored and promised to be put back after grading and landscaping the area. This was once part of the Edward F Wurz farm at Rector's Crossing. His stone and several others were stored in the Glenville town garage since 1962 and after much prompting were erected in this cemetery in 2016. A large amount of work on this family is included in two volumes of "The Haverlys of the Helderberghs" by Estella Haverly Roth and Ramona Manchester Tryon 1995.
