Dora "Betty" Jean Hatfield Wimmer, age 73 of the Pea Patch section of Jewell Ridge, VA departed this life for heaven surrounded by her family on Friday, January 18, 2013 at Indian Path Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. Betty was a daughter of the late W.H. Hatfield and Pearlie Mae Sweeney Hatfield who had made their home in Jolo, WV where Betty was a member of the Community Church of the Living God.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by nine sisters and eight brothers.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-five years, Luther Wimmer
Daughter: Billie Jean Mullins and husband, Joe of Jewell Ridge, VA.
Son: Dewey E. Wimmer and fiancée, Shawneia Blevins of Mt. Carmel, TN.
Sisters: Thedosia Mullins and husband, Fred of Jewell Ridge, VA and Lona Dobbs and husband, Fred of Jolo, WV.
Brother: Elza Hatfield and wife, Faye.
Sister-in-Law: Claudine Hatfield of Bristol, VA.
Brother – in – Law, Carl Wimmer and wife, Ethelene of Whitewood, VA.
Granddaughters: Miranda Owens and husband, Jason, Aleaha Stiltner and husband, Shane, and Haley Wimmer.
Grandson: Caleb Wimmer
Step granddaughters: Jodie and Breanna Blevins.
Great-Grandsons: Aiden, Zachary and Seth Owens.
A host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends also survive.
Funeral services for Dora "Betty" Jean Hatfield Wimmer will be conducted at 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at the Community Church of the Living God at Jolo, WV with Rev. Pete Woods, Rev. Hubert Sweeney and Rev. Charlie Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in the Pea Patch section of Jewell Ridge, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the Community Church of the Living God at Jolo, WV after 6:00 PM Monday, January 21, 2013, where a service will be conducted at 7:00 PM.
