Daniel Frederich Schrader, son of Josie and the late Fred Schrader, was born near Dallas, October 9, 1915, and died suddenly, August 12, 1955, at the age of 39 years and 10 months. He was baptized in October 1915 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Lacona, Iowa and was confirmed on April 14, 1935 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Melcher, Iowa. On Saturday, September 17, 1939, he was united in marriage to Frieda L. Hartz. To this union two daughters and three sons were born. He served as elder of his church for two years and as Sunday school superintendent for two years. At the time of his death he was serving as chairman of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Surviving him are his wife, Frieda; sons, Dennis, Doran, David; daughters, Carol and Connie; his mother, Mrs. Josie (Feight) Schrader; one sister, Mrs. Helen (Schrader) Herold; three brothers, Walter, Raymond and Ivan, all of Lacona, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his father, one sister, and one brother. He also leaves a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Edmond Frese, on August 15, 1955 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Interment was made in St. Paul Cemetery, Volume 7: Marion County Obituaries, pages 201-308 [1952-1955]
