In 1920 Jennie Van Milligan (20 y, born in Illinois), her father Peter Van Milligan (58, Holland, immigrated in 1890), her mother Jane (54, Holland, immigrated in 1890), her siblings Maggie (33, Holland, immigrated in 1890), Jacob (25, Illinois), Hattie (16, Illinois) and John (13, Illinois) were living at their own home in the Dutch truck farmers settlement of South Holland, just south of Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.

In 1921 Adriaantje aka Jane Bos married the six years older Hotse Scheeringa, who had Dutch parents too.

In May 1940 Hotse Scheeringa (48 y, born in Holland, farmer), his wife Jennie (42, Illinois), and their sons Jacob (16, Indiana, new worker) and James (12, Indiana) were living at their own farm, worth $1000, at 45th Avenue Rural Route 2 in Calumet Township, Lake County, Indiana. They lived in 1935 in Highland, Lake County, Indiana.

Her husband Hotse Scheeringa died in March 1959 at the age of 67 years, very probably in Lake County, Indiana. Widow Jennie died there probably too, in 1976, at the age of about 78 years.
