Mr. Shields was a native of Monroe but had resided in this section of the state since early manhood. He was 72 years of age.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Agnes Harvey Shields, a daughter, Mrs. Will Adams and two granddaughters of Tallulah. Three nephews, Arnold Shields of Al__, Howard Shields of Clarksdale, and W. E. Gray of Quiri-Quiri, Venezuela also survive.
Pallbearers were Cliff Adams, W. Regenold, D. M. Kell, H. R. Maxwell of Tallulah; R. E. Bowen of Ala__ and Owen S. Brown, N. C. Williams and J. N. Hill of Lake Providence.
Williams Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
