Anthony E. Day, Sr., 60, beloved husband of Josephine (Sgambelluri) Day died on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at MidState Medical Center.

Born on March 21, 1952, he was the son of the late William and Ann (Monteleone) Day. A lifelong resident of Meriden, Anthony attended local schools and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. He proudly served in the U.S. Air force during the Vietnam Conflict. Anthony was employed as an assembler for Radio Frequency Systems, Inc. in Meriden and was an avid Ham Radio and Shortwave Radio enthusiast. Anthony was a devoted advocate for the Lewis Avenue Neighborhood Association.

He is survived by his son, Anthony E. Day, Jr., and his fiancé, Krissy Bourque, of Southington; a brother, William Day, Jr., and his wife, Janet, of Meriden; two sisters, Elizabeth Day-Summers, of Meriden, Ann Carabetta and her husband, Robert, of Meriden; his grandson, Anthony J. Day, of Meriden; and three nieces, Lori Carabetta, Stephanie Day and Rebecca Bard. He was predeceased by his nephew, Robert Carabetta.

Burial with military honors in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
