WARREN - Homer Zaugg, 85, passed away Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at St. Joseph Health Center. He was born in Warren, the son of Gottlieb and Marie Haldman Zaugg. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. Homer was a self-employed farmer and owner-operator of Homer's Ashland Gas Station at the corner of North Leavitt and Parkman Road during the 1960s, '70s and '80s.
He is survived by a niece, Linda Cool of Champion; a sister, Freda Kuntz of Warren; and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and -nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, four sisters and six brothers preceded him in death.
Services will be held at noon Tuesday at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Champion Township Cemetery. The family requests that material contributions be made to the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County Dog Kennel in his memory.
