OBITUARY: Kris Peraldo

On Tuesday, August 9th, 2011, our most cherished Kris Peraldo passed away at the Bowers Hospice House following a courageous battle with Lymphoma. Kris Peraldo was only 24 years, 10 months and 24 days old.

Known affectionately as "Kris" all his life, Kristopher David Peraldo was born on Sept. 16th, 1986 at Ft. Carson, Colo. He is the beloved son of Elaine Dawn Sisunik. Kris' maternal great grandparents, Audrie and Ray Mullins and an uncle, Rico Mullins have preceded him in death.

Kris spent his childhood at Oak Hill, where he graduated from Oak Hill High School, Class of 2006. He was a member of the First Brethren Church in Oak Hill. A student at Marshall University he was studying Political Science. Kris looked forward to a future in law. In his leisure time he loved making movies and playing Halo. Kris Peraldo never met a stranger. He had many friends and will be remembered as a "Great Talker." In these last days of his life, he was constantly surrounded by his buddies at the Bowers Hospice House. On a day when he seemed to be slipping away, he would rally up just to see an old friend who came to visit. His memory and joy of living sustain us now, even in these darkest hours.

In addition to his loving mother, Kris leaves behind his two brothers and two sisters, his sister, Kerri, brother, Jared, sister, Jaimee and brother, Michael will forever cherish his memory. Kris was the dear grandson of David and Lenora Peraldo, the fond nephew of Ronda and Jesse Ruiz and the first cousin to Brando, Justin and Erin Ruiz, all of Pflugerville, Texas. He had so many friends and admirers who were so faithful to him during these final days of his illness.

Kris' request was to be cremated. We have honored his wishes. This Saturday, August 20th, at 11 a.m. his ashes will be buried in the Gethsemane Memorial Gardens on 2150 Pea Ridge Road at Oak Hill. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:30 a.m.

The family would like to publicly acknowledge the Hill Top Center, Bowers Hospice House, the Bone Marrow Transplant Center in Morgantown and all his friends in Oak Hill, Huntington and Morgantown.

Condolences may be sent to the family's guestbook at www.meltonmortuary.com.
