Andrew "Andy" Jacobs was born on March 14, 1913 in Illinois, the son of George Jacobs and Susan (Havira) Jacobs.
He graduated from Joliet Township High School with the Class of 1931, and retired from Texaco Refinery after 37 years of service.
A charter member and past president of the Will County Pigeon Club, Andy served with the US Army during World War II as a corporal from 1942-1945 with The 28th Combat Pigeon Company.
He was married about 1957 to Harriet (Kolokowski ( -1992).
Andrew was 99 years old and a resident of Crest Hill when he passed away on January 18, 2013.
Preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and his siblings, he is survived by a married step-daughter; a number of step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews and a long-time female friend.
Burial is to be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
