Anna Grace Alexander, 87, of Frederick passed away peacefully on January 18, 2013 at Edenton Retirement Community. Born March 23, 1925 in Walkersville, MD, she was the daughter of the late Wilmer Jacob and Grace Marie Hobbs Kefauver. Anna was the wife of the late Lt. Col. (R) Cleon H. Alexander for 40 years until he passed away on December 14, 1987. She was honored to be an Army wife and especiallyenjoyed their time living in Hawaii and Japan. Returning to Frederick in the early 1960s,Anna became a bookkeeper for several local businesses including the original Mealey's Restaurant in New Market. Anna and Cleon enjoyed their early retirement years traveling throughout the U.S. She lived in Ormond Beach, FL for several years before returning to Frederick to be closer to family. Surviving is one brother, Clyde Kefauver and wife Nayoda (Kitty) of Braddock Heights, nieces and nephews: Shirley Kerchner Hutzell and husband Leslie U. of Ijamsville; Leslie Ann Hutzell Eyler, husband Allan, and children Megan and Jeffrey of Frederick; Dr. Jeanne Kefauver Mason and husband Dale of Chicago; Timothy Kefauver, wife Deborah, and children Jennifer and Philip of Braddock Heights; and Edward Kefauver, wife Cherie and stepson Joey Johnston of Frederick. She was preceded in death by her sister Katherine Kefauver Kerchner Eicholtz and brother Edward W. Kefauver. Anna will be fondly remembered by her friends and staff at Edenton Retirement Community.The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22nd at the Chapel Mausoleum of Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 U.S. Route 15 N in Frederick, where a funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Veterans Garden of Honor I at Resthaven. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice . Arrangements are with Resthaven Funeral Services, Skkot Cody P.A. in Frederick.
