Mary W. Morton, 83, of Waco, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2013. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 23, at OakCrest Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, at OakCrest Funeral Home.

Mary Ann was born in Deport, Texas, to the late Henry C. and Jessie Marshall Wright. She married her college sweetheart, John, in 1953 in Big Spring, Texas. Mary taught for 23 years, including positions at East Texas Teacher's College, Howard County Junior College in Big Spring, Harlandale Jr, High in San Antonio, La Vega Intermediate School, and North Junior High School in Waco. She was a longtime member of the Grace Temple Church Dorcas Class. She loved flowers, Cardinals, and Baylor.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, John Hardman Morton; and brothers, Billy Wright and Marshall Wright.

Survivors include sons, Clay Morton, of Dallas, and Randy Morton, of Waco; daughter, Susan Morton, of Waco; grandsons: Matthew and Pierce Morton, and John Stoume and his wife, Jessica; great-grandson, Jeremiah Stoume; brother, Grady Wright and family, of Deport; sister, Geraldine Powers and family, of Amarillo; sister-in-law, Ruby Wright, of Rosenthal; and sister-in-law, Marjorie Hutson and family, of Valley View, Texas; and many wonderful friends.
