Lindsay R. Wilson, 20, died Jan. 8, 2012 in Boston after a yearlong battle with leukemia. She was very strong willed and in her words, "fought like a girl" from her diagnosis to her last breath. She was born Feb. 11, 1991, in Bangor, the daughter of Edwin II and Robin M. (Foss) Wilson.

Lindsay attended schools in Hermon and had been working for River City Cleaners in Bangor. With a beautiful smile and a great sense of humor, Lindsay touched many hearts and lives, was fun loving and was loved by many. She enjoyed many things including listening to music, the Twilight Series "Team Edward," watching the Boston Bruins and spending time with family and friends. She especially loved going to the coast, particularly Cadillac Mountain, and the time she spent at camp with friends.

Surviving are her parents, Edwin Wilson and his wife, Kelly, of Bangor; and her mother, Robin Wilson of Bangor; her three brothers, Zebbie, Zack and Eli; and her sister, Genna; maternal grandmother, Donna Foss, with whom she was very close; Nana and Papa; many aunts, uncles, cousins and her little cousins whom she adored. She was predeceased by grandparents, and several aunts and uncles; one special aunt, Margaret Houston. She will be remembered by some special friends whom were by her side until the end, Carrie Jordan, Jason and Haley Carle, Michelle Henderson and Greg Markee; a special friend and co-worker, Alex Bevis. She will also be missed by her beloved cat, Jasper. Lindsay's family is grateful for the excellent care she received from the nurses of Eastern Maine Medical Center and Brigham & Women's Hospital, Boston.

Family and friends may visit 5-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor, where a service celebrating Lindsay's life will be held at 7 p.m. as the visitation concludes. Burial will be at a later date. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to CancerCare of Maine, care of Healthcare Charities, P.O. Box 931, Bangor, ME 04402.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
