Leona M. Powell, 76, of Rayland, OH., died Monday, December 20, 2010 at her home. She was born April 14, 1934 in Greene County, PA., daughter of the late David and Agnes Brown Rogers. Leona was a homemaker and a Nazarene by faith.
Surviving are 5 children, Mike (Kim) Powell of Martins Ferry, OH., Darlene Ogden of Tiltonsville, OH., Debbie (Ron) Isle, Donna (Jerry) Thompson and Eddie (Dee Dee)Powell, Jr., all of Rayland; 2 sisters, Ruth Harrigan of Powhatan Point, OH., and Nell Palmer of Salineville, OH; 3 brothers; Jim Lanham and George Rogers, both of Steubenville, and Tom (Nancy) Rogers of Bridgeport, OH; 12 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Powell on Feb. 28, 1997, a daughter Patty Powell, a sister Forestie Rogers, and a brother, David Rogers.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at the Bauknecht Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Bellaire, OH. Burial followed in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling, WV.
