Roy Morgan Passed away At Tehachapi

Roy Lamar Morgan, age 68, and a 22 year resident of Mojave passed away in Tehachapi Valley Hospital at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21st.'
He was a life-long railroader hiring out as a clerk on the Southern Railroad. Later he went to South Dakota as a Switchman.
It was in Souix (sic) Falls, S.D. that R. L. Morgan met and married his wife Minnie and only recently they had observed their 48th wedding anniversary.
Ray and his wife came to Mojave in 1944 and he worked continuously for Southern Pacific as switchman and later as yardmaster.
Born August 31, 1898 in Lauderdale, Miss., he had traveled extensively probably in every state and Canada.
He was fond of bowling, of having rolled with a championship team in his earlier years. Even at his present age he turned in a better game than many a younger man.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie of L Street, Mojave.; two daughters, Mrs. Clifton J. McElroy of Long Beach and Mrs. Dorothy Jensen, Buena Park; three sisters, Mrs. R. W. Rhodes of Starkwell, Miss., Essie Davis of Meridian, Miss. And Edna Brown of Hileah (sic), Florida.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 24 with Stickel Mortuary in charge and Rev. E. H. Engel officiating,
