Graveside services for Anson Moss, a former Mojave resident, were held at 1:00 p.m. at the Mojave Cemetery on Monday, August 2.
Mr. Moss, who was 79 years old, passed away at his home in Madera on July 29.
He first came to the Mojave area in the early 1930's and was associated with the Burton Bros. mine at Tropico for many years. He and his wife, Effie, made their home on Backus Rd. She passed away in 1950 and is buried at the Mojave Cemetery. Shortly after the mines were closed down, Mr. Moss retired and moved to Madera.
He is survived by a son, Johnny, and a daughter, Allie McClintock, both of Madera; four brother, Colonel of Mojave, Henry in Hawaii, Ernest at Lake Isabella, and Clifford of Ramona, CA; two sisters, Willie Given, Upland, and Ruth Cloyd of Fresno; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Mr. Moss had last visited Mojave on July 17 to attend the 50th wedding anniversary of Colonel and Frances Moss.
