Marie married Raymond Hilary Thompson on May 26, 1942 in Daviess Co, KY

Marie C. Thompson, 91, of Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2013, at the Carmel Home. She was born on August 4, 1921, in Daviess County to the late John C. Calhoun and Augusta Clements Calhoun. She was a retired homemaker and a member of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond H. Thompson in 1985; a son, Tommy Thompson in 1961, two brothers; and one sister.
She is survived by one son, Alan (Ruth Ann) Thompson; five daughters, Bonnie (Jim) Hendrickson of Jackson, Michigan, Mary Ann (Doug) Wheeler of Boca Raton, Florida, Martha (Bryan) Watson of Jackson, Michigan, Dottie (Bill) Riney of Owensboro, Jeannie (Bill) Potter of Boca Raton, Florida; 24 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; one brother, James L. (Dorothy) Calhoun of St. Joseph; one sister Gertrude Castlen of Stanley; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 22, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with the Reverend Bruce McCarty officiating. Burial will follow in St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. at Haley-McGinnis and Owensboro Funeral Home and after 8 a.m. on Tuesday. Prayers will be said at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Carmel Home, 2501 Old Hartford Road, Owensboro, Kentucky 42301.
