Ellen passed away Monday, April 25 at St. Benedict's Health Center in Dickinson.
Ellen M. Triendal was born Oct. 3, 1915 in Nebraska, the oldest child of John Reuben and Laura (Dye) Triendal.
On Feb. 12, 1966 Ellen and Alex Hegel were married in California.
Ellen lived in Nebraska, Wyoming and California before settling in Dickinson. While residing in Dickinson, Ellen worked as a sales clerk at Woolworth as well as a day care provider for a number of years. Ellen enjoyed spending the last few years living at St. Benedict's Health Center.
Ellen enjoyed crocheting and had a large doll collection, many that she had created. She also spent many hours crocheting clothes for many of her dolls. Alex and Ellen loved to attend auction and garage sales and together they created a large collection of knick-knacks. Their home was always open to family and friends and made everyone who came to visit feel welcome.
Ellen is survived by her husband, Alex; two sons, Bill Nelson and John Pebworth; one daughter Darlene Day; four step-daughters, Arlene Marine, Marie Valli, Ida Morton and Rosan Simpson; two sisters, Della and Laura; fifteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Laura Triendal; one son Jack Nelson; one daughter, Margie Klein; and four brothers, Harry, Everett, Bob and Lee.
