Coach Benjamin Franklin Berry, age 90, of Huntsville, Alabama passed away peacefully on 1/19/2013 at HSV, Rehab.& Health. He was born on 9/15/1922 in Charlotte, Tennessee to his parents, Ben and Bertha.
Coach was the one of 8. He married Sylvia Berry in Huntsville, Al on 1950. They had 2 children. He attended Tenn. Tech college and graduated in 1949 with a degree in BS. He served in the Army for 4 years and served in WWII, earning Purple Heart. He was a longtime resident of Huntsville, Alabama for 62 years and employed by Huntsville City school system as a School teacher for 35 years. He enjoyed Coaching Football, Hunting, Fishing and living life to the fullest.
Coach will be remembered by his loving children Sandra Menter-Berry of Carbondale, CO, Frank Berry of Huntsville, AL. He is also survived by his Son-in-Law Paul Menter, Two grandchildren Jordan Menter and Alexandia Menter all from Carbondale, CO.. Predeceased in death by Wife Sylvia Berry.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation for Benjamin at Valhalla Funeral Home on Friday from 6:00pm till 8:00pm.The Funeral Service will be Saturday at 11:00am at Valhalla Funeral. The interment will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens. A reception will follow the graveside at Valhalla Funeral Home.
