William Washington (affectionately known to many as "Wash" was born to Tom & Chestina Simmons Washington on May 11, 1918 in LaCrosse, Florida.
He attended the local schools and served in the Armed Forces during World War II.
He was employed by the University of Florida and retired after many years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Jesus Christ Nazareth Worship and Praise Temple under the pastorate of Elder Henry Thompson.
Mr. Washington's life came to a close on Sunday, May 2, 1999; 6:40 pm at the North Florida Special Care Center of Gainesville, Florida.
Survivors include his sister - Victoria Jones; a brother - Isaiah Washington, Sr; aunt Emma Scurry; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; Godson - Rev. Henry Thompson.
